The Rev. Tab E. Cosgrove
The Rev. Tab E. Cosgrove became the Senior Pastor at St. John Lutheran Church in August 2013. Pastor Cosgrove was born on October 1, 1960, in York, PA, and is the son of the late Ron and Geraldine Cosgrove. He married Jackie Miller in 1983, and they relocated to Richmond, Virginia. In Richmond, Pastor Cosgrove worked as an account rep for 18 years at two separate printing companies. He was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, serving as Sunday School Superintendent, an elder, a member of the church council, and as youth leader.
In 2001, in response to God’s call to ministry, Pastor Cosgrove enrolled at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO. After serving his vicarage year at Hope Lutheran Church in Wake Forest, NC, Pastor Cosgrove was ordained into the Holy Ministry on July 23, 2005, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, in Richmond. He was called as an Assistant Pastor at Hope Lutheran Church (Wake Forest) and, in 2010, was made an Associate Pastor at Hope Lutheran.
Pastor Cosgrove received a BS in Business Administration from Shippensburg University in PA in 1983, and a Master of Divinity Degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO, in 2005. Pastor Cosgrove and Jackie have two sons: Kevin (born 1991) and Jonathan (born 1998). His personal mission statement is, “To equip the saints for the work of ministry” (Eph. 4:12).
