Gavin Meinz

Gavin Meinz began serving as the DCE (Director of Christian Education) Intern of Community Care at St. John Lutheran Church in June 2023. Gavin grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he developed a love for the outdoors and a growing passion for ministry. Gavin attended the DCE program at Concordia University Irvine, and graduated with a degree in Theological Studies and Christian Leadership Administration. His internship at St. John will complete his formal education within his program.

During his time at CUI, Gavin met his wife Livia. They have been happily married since August of 2022.

Gavin believes that the primary purpose of Christian Education is to give all ages exposure, teaching and instruction, and application regarding Scripture and Christian living. The scope of Christian Education is from the cradle to the grave, and emphasizes the integration of Christian Education in the daily life of the home and family. God’s people can best care for their community when rooted and established in the identity of Christ, which is nurtured through Christian Education.
